No, the alarm is pre-configured from information you provide during the ordering/referral process and ready to use out of the box. If you want to change any settings such as nominated contacts or response plan, you can do so by calling us on 1300 907 272

Your alarm is like a mobile phone and needs to be charged regularly. With typical usage we see the battery last three days or 120 hours in standby mode. We recommend that you charge your Mobile Alarm every night for around 30 minutes to form a habit. It takes about 90 minutes to charge from 0% to 100%.

By default the alarm uses the Telstra 4G mobile network. The alarm will work in any area with cellular network coverage. If you are in a location with poor reception to Telstra, we can also switch the alarm to use the Optus network instead. Please mention it in your order/referral or contact us on 1300 907 272 if you require this.

The device is IP67 rated, which means it is dust-tight and can be submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. We recommend wearing it in the shower, but you should avoid prolonged exposure to water (e.g. swimming) to maintain the device's longevity.

The alarm will regularly attempt to get a location from its inbuilt GPS. However, if the device is indoors or in a location with poor GPS reception, it may not be able to get a GPS fix. In this case, the alarm will use cell tower triangulation to estimate its location. This is less accurate than GPS, but still provides a general area of where the alarm is located. Additionally, following an alert, the alarm will attempt to get a new location every 30 seconds for 5 minutes. So if the initial location from an alert is inaccurate, nominated contacts can prompt the alarm to get the more recent location by texting the device's phone number with the location command (see the help center article for details).
